Public Consultation
ICT industry stakeholders and the general public are advised that the Department of Communication and Information Technology (DCI) with the logistics support of NICTA, has today released for public consultation the Proposed Amendments to the NICT Act 2009 (the Act) and the Draft Bill.
This is the first review of the Act since it was enacted by the National Parliament in 2009. The purpose of the review is to amend particular parts of the Act that DCI and NICTA have found to be inhibitive in the implementation and achievement of the objectives of the Act.
DCI is pleased to invite comments only on the proposed amendments.
Copies of the consultation documents can be obtained by emailing pkorni@gopng.gov.pg/along@gopng.gov.pg or downloaded from the NICTA website at www.nicta.gov.pg.
All written comments/submissions should be emailed to pkorni@gopng.gov.pg/along@gopng.gov.pg and copied to consultation.submission@nicta.gov.pg or can be sent to this postal address:

Parties may seek confidentiality on their comments as prescribed under Section 44 of the same Act. All comments will be published on the NICTA website except those parts that are determined to be confidential.
The deadline for comments/submission is 4.00pm, January 9, 2015.
