Draft Rule Establishing an Annual Data Collection Regime & the Revised Guidelines on the Submission of Written Comments on Public Inquiries and Public Consultations
In accordance with Sections 219(1) (c) and 229 of the National Information Communications and Technology Act 2009 (“the Act”), NICTA hereby gives notice to conduct public consultations on the Draft Rule Establishing an Annual Data Collection Regime and the Revised Guidelines on the Submission of Written Comments on Public Inquiries and Public Consultations.
The public consultations will be conducted over a period of four (4) weeks commencing from the date of the release of the two papers. The two papers can be obtained from the NICTA Head Office located at Section 34, Lot 19 &20 Frangipani Street, Hohola, Port Moresby or downloaded from the NICTA Public Register at www.nicta.gov.pg Additionally, copies of the documents can also be requested from Polume Lume by email: plume@nicta.gov.pg
These consultations are intended to be paper-based where only written submissions and evidence shall be accepted and would not involve any public hearings.
NICTA invites stakeholders and interested parties to consider and comment on the consultation papers. All written submissions should be submitted by email to: consultation.submission@nicta.gov.pg by Tuesday, May 6, 2014. Copies of the submissions received will be published on NICTA’s Public Register consistent with the requirements on NICTA under subsection 229(3) of the Act.
Any respondent that wishes to claim confidentiality over information that it submits in response to these discussion papers should follow the procedures set out in the current Guidelines on the submission of written comments to public consultations and public inquiries, which are also available from NICTA’s Public Register.
The publication of this notice fulfills the requirements set out in s.229 of the Act.
