While the internet offers many opportunities for learning, communication, creativity and entertainment, it also opens up certain risks to vulnerable users such as children and young people in Papua New Guinea
Online, children can be exposed to harmful content and behavior such as cyberbullying, sexual harassment, pornography, violence, or self-harm that is detrimental to their personal growth and development.
As part of the Safer Internet Day 2021 Campaign, the PNG Safer Internet Day Committee, consisting of other stakeholder partners continue to advocate on safer use of internet.
The team from NICTA, NiuNet and Buk Bilong Pikinini were at NBC radio to discuss how the partnership between NiuNet and Buk Bilong Pikinini is assisting to offer online learning opportunities for students in Papua New Guinea
